No School Uniforms!
I am going to write about why we should not have school uniforms. I am Ajay Radhakrishnan, a 5th grade student from Scott Lane Elementary School. I am writing this to California's Governor Gray Davis. I think we should not have school uniforms because we would not be able have freedom to choose our clothes. Another reason is that we will look the same instead of being different and unique.
The United States of America is the country of freedom. All of us have freedom to speak. We also have freedom to write. Everyone can choose the food they want to eat. Similarly, we should have freedom to choose our own clothes. No one should force students to wear school uniforms!
We should look different and unique. We should not look the same as everybody. As we have different skills and names, our clothes can look different too. We need not wear the same shirts and pants every school day. We must be able to wear the clothes we like. We all like different clothes. People wear different clothes in different seasons. The clothes identify a person's personality.
We must not wear school uniforms. If we wear school uniforms, we will not be able to have freedom to choose our clothes. We also would not be able to look different and unique.
School uniforms make you look like everybody else. It also makes you to lose your individuality and personality. There are no real benefits for wearing school uniforms.
